1960 Bandai Ford Falcon Sedan Friction Tin Car

After their hugely successful Model Auto Series in the 1950s, Bandai continued with a new series of Amazing Tin cars. While the Model Auto Series was heavily focused on Popular American Cars, The new “Automobiles of the World” added over 100 new scale models.

Here we have a #734, the Ford Falcon Sedan. When American car manufacturers realized that the “bigger, larger” strategy for car design was quickly fading they began to design “compacts”. One of the first and most popular models was the Falcon, which spanned the 60s and 70s over 3 generations.

Bandai did a great job capturing the realism of the first generation design. The body has an awesome vibrant metallic red finish with a black hardtop. The interior is generously lithographed in blue/green and is equipped with a black plastic steering wheel.

This particular Flacon comes with its original box, and has been stored there accompanied by tissue paper.

As to the condition: The car is near mint. A couple of very small chips to the metallic red can be seen on the rear. The original tires show some light show some mild edge wear from storage. Friction is strong and runs smooth.
