Asahi ATC 1955 Ford Musical Battery Op Tin Car *SOLD*
Asahi ATC 1955 Ford Musical Battery Op Tin Car
This fun toy from the famous and well respected Asahi Toy Company (ATC) of Japan
They toy is modeled after a 1955 Ford Customline, with a light cream body accented with chrome trim.
The interior is nicely detailed in vibrant lithograph and features a full dashboard, green/yellow seats,
and a tin steering wheel.
The rubber tires are paired with lithographed white/red tin rims.
Now comes the interesting part: This tin car is battery operated using 1 D battery (not included). The
battery powers the rear wheels, as well as a music box! The idea behind the coupling was to emulate
the car’s radio being played as it cruises down “the road”
The condition on this car is fairly nice for displaying, with some light loss to the chrome and some small
scattered spots of oxidation. There is minimal loss to the paint, mainly seen in tiny flakes along the trim.
The tires show some average wear from age.
It looks like the car had some previous fiddling with the power switch, which is a bit finicky. When tested with a battery, the car’s working condition is lacking. The contact for the switch needs adjusting and the motor is a bit sluggish. Music box does play.
Measures approx. 9″ Long x 4″ W x 3″ H
Figures not included ….. pew, pew.
