GFN or Fleischmann tin Battleship from 1950s *SOLD*

GFN or Fleischmann tin Battleship from 1930s

Our dusty Fleischmann battleship needs some TLC and a new crow’s nest/mast.  This is quite a desirable toy, albeit dusty and lacking the tin add on.  It is about a 19″ long tin battleship made by famed German company Fleischmann.  Fleischmann chose a striking combination of gray and the brilliant blue stripes.

Our toy needs a thorough cleaning but is offered as-found in a local estate.  The upper bridge was secured by a fastener or piece of metal that is missing (in front of the command bridge and on the tan deck). As mentioned, the upper tower is missing too. Dent on right hull below waterline and aft of stand.  Otherwise, it is quite a nice toy and in original condition.

The best feature is the assortment of tin guns and their various sizes.  It would have been designed after a premier ship of the 30’s and has a resemblance to later U.S. designs of WW2.

Fleischmann was founded in Nuremberg in 1887 by Jean Fleischmann, as a toy company.

This may end up being the No 527 Battle Cruiser from 1936, but differences are subtile between GFN models.
