Stove Salesman Sample Stove or XL Child’s Stove *SOLD*

Stove Salesman Sample Stove- (actually extremely large Child’s stove)

Our stove is fresh from a collector’s home that is downsizing and magnificent!  The size is about double that of traditional cast iron toy stoves.  At first we thought this a salesman’s sample, then we dug up details behind it being a child’s stove that functions!

Ours will function if need-be.  It has a pull out grate, two side loading oven doors and rack for food.  A full sized oven door with grate for wood (appears to be a front loader for wood), ash bin, then for ranges.

One possible maker is Southard, Robertson & Co. of Peekskill, Ny and  was designed prior to 1876

The “toy oven” comes with decorative “oven polish” and early kettle to compliment the set.  The shovel is included too.

Update:

We found some evidence that this could be an Early Child’s Cast-iron Little Eva Stove has been attributed by some to N.S. Cate, Boston, with twin side oven doors, front doors, four range tops, chimney, on cabriole legs. N.B. N.S. Cates is recorded as a stove maker in the 1847 Boston Almanac at 25 Sea
