1950s Tipp Co Phantom 14” Battery Op Tin Car *SOLD*

1950s Tipp Co Phantom 14” Battery Operated Tin Car

For those who have a love of the mid-century craze of “futuristic” modern design, Tipp Co. designed this car just for you!

From the elongated, sleek streamlined body to the center mounted single taillight, this convertible really makes itself known on the shelf.

There were two versions of this car made by Tipp in the 1950s. The first was a friction powered model, and then the “electro-drive” that we have here. Both came in a variety of metallic colors.

Our example here has been mostly restored. The gold metallic paint was well done top/bottom, had has a great luster. A single swooped plastic has replaced the original windshield. The seat has been replaced with a sheet of taupe pleather.

The inner workings were left untouched. The battery compartment has damaged contacts and is in need of repair if more than display is desired from this car.

Comes with a reproduction box for additional display.

Measures approx. 14” Long
