Antique French Pair of Wooden Pull Toy Horses on Platform 

This is an antique pair of wooden pull toy horses on platform that was manufactured by an unknown French maker.  

These are all wood and have some weight to them. They are affixed to the platform via pegs in their feet. The wheels are rusty but original. There is some chipping to the plaster, but it’s amazing how plaster was added beneath and then hand painted. Original small chains are attached to their inside bodies, as well as, the original black strapping and black paint on them. The tail feels like horse hair, but we aren’t for certain what material was used. These are handmaid and you can see the wonderful jointing on each piece. It comes with some old roping as well as a pull rope attached to one horse. There is a professional repair on one leg, but it ensures this piece stays beautiful for decades to come.   

This piece is in great all original condition with no breaks, restorations, or touch ups. This piece shows the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, missing accessories and wear that are to be expected from age and play. This is approximately 11 1/8” Tall x 13 ¼” deep x 9” deep. Each single horse is approximately 10” Tall x 12” deep x 3” W. We invite you to view the photos to further determine quality and condition.
