American Sailplane Co. Balsa Wood Flying Sailplane Model Plane in Box

Enjoy our humble and super rare plane.  It is a balsa plane ca 1930 manufactured by the American Sailplane Company out of Boston, Massachusetts,  and is an overbuilt toy that shouldn’t survive.

Our toy did survive though and comes with parts and pieces to build your own glider aka “Sailplane”.  The box lithography is beautiful and may even go back to the the 1920s.

The box and most of the wood parts are original.  Stickers are a replacement, as is the metal nose weight.

Great toy and conversation piece!  This is the first one we have seen and are happy to document the rare airplane kit toy.
