Bing Steam Engine Toy with Box German *SOLD*

Gebrüder Bing Steam Engine with Box from Germany

This is a really interesting steam engine toy manufactured by Gebrüder Bing of Nuremberg, Germany.

This beautiful boxed Bing engine comes with accessories and is in original condition. The gauge is intact, tank filler cap is there, while has pivoting handle, and piston switch works up and down. We did not try to run it; however, it looks ready for action after a proper inspection. Condition is excellent other than a box top replacement.

This engine is quite a desirable one because of the multi-colored tiled base. It is nailed onto a wooden plinth and sets off the toy with a beautiful backdrop. A kid would fill up the burner with some form of alcohol/spirits fuel (wick doesn’t look used). Then the kid would open the whistle to allow a signal when pressure is properly built up. Then one would need to switch the piston and flywheel valve to open, close the whistle, and spin/prime the flywheel.

Our example of this piece is in excellent all original condition with no breaks, restorations, repairs, or touch ups. It is in excellent overall condition with the usual patina, scratches, scuffs, surface rust and chips that are seen with age and play. The whole toy is approximately 8 ¼” L x 8 ¼” W. We encourage you to examine the photographs to further determine condition and quality.
