Citroen Rosalie 15CV Large Scale Tin Wind Up

If you have a soft spot for large scale tin cars, Citroëns never fail to hit the mark.  Typically cars that go up for sale are snatched up by collectors as their size, detailing and little extras in design make for great display pieces.

Here we have an early-mid 1930s Rosalie Coupe 15CV two door.  The Rosalie series really jumped Citroen into a new level, as their modern design really stepped forward from their earlier C series. The sleek yet intimidating body with squinted windows and tapered engine bay really appeals to the hot-rod/dragster look.

This car really nails the visage of the 15cv with the pressed detailing of the engine bay vents on each side, frame pattern of the tin on the cab, and raked front grill.  The driver’s door has an operational handle which allows access to the interior.  Inside is are two tin bench seats and an operational steering wheel in forest green.

Underneath is a large healthy clockwork motor which powers the rear wheels. The nature of the design leaves it a little wobbly, but it gets the job done.

The car has been restored rather nicely in a two-tone glossy burnt yellow/orange and deep black.  The rubber wheel are in good soft shape with slight warping from sitting.
