This is the nicest Fire Pumper Hillclimber we have enjoyed.  It is in original condition and comes with its original and very very rare driver.

These toys are primitive and considered one of the first (at patented) sheet metal mass produced and stamped out toys.  The metal has a minimum of parts on it and is bent into place.  At the time, Dayton used wood accents (top of boiler and gauges and pressure dome) and used cast iron for the driver.

Our toy is in very good to excellent condition.  Red is bright and gold still sparkles.  The movement is not dependable but all original.  They tend to need small bends/adjustments and never really worked well from the factory.  There was no bearing, no bushing, and not much forgiveness for the crushing forces used to rev up the flywheel.
