Near new old stock Estes Rocket of the Mercury Redstone.  This is actually a kit made to add an engine and truly for adults and older supervised children.  The engine was sold separately.

The rocket kit has coated tubes, and balsa wood fins; a plastic nose cone.  All was designed for a light and sturdy flight.  Instructions are included inside the bag.

Mercury Redstone Rocket History

The Mercury-Redstone Launch Vehicle, designed for NASA’s Project Mercury, was the first American crewed space booster. It was used for six sub-orbital Mercury flights in 1960 and 1961, culminating with the launch of the first and, eleven weeks later, the second Americans (and the second and third humans) in space.
