Fleishmann Carette Early Battleship Tin Toy For Sale

We have an earlier Fleishmann battleship for sale that uses a Carette style hull pressing.  The ship is an earlier four gun ship, with two funnels, two lifeboats, one mast.  Our clockwork warship is one of the larger sizes of the series at 13″ long.

The tin battleship came to us with a German party flag circa 1936.  It is quite a rare model, as this is a transitional government time for Germany, and 1936 toys often were used up, recycled, or lost to war.  Guns on this toy fully rotate and the windup works.  The Richard T Claus book of ships catalogs it as the #630/33 and calls it a clockwork [toy] warship.  Be sure to look up his The Allure of Toy Ships book for an amazing reference publication.

This particular ship is interesting, in that it has early Carette style parts, and later tin boat features from Fleishmann. -nice tampo painted portholes and hand painted detailing.  Deck paint is a deep contrasting mahogany color.

Paint is original with distress other than these replaced parts- two pennants, a mast, and one funnel. The German war flag is original to this toy. -Great early tin windup that is approaching 100 years of age.
