Ca. 1950’s Econolite Roto-Vue Jr. Western Hopalong Cassidy Bar 20 Ranch Rotating Motion Lamp *SOLD*

HOPALONG Cassidy Bar 10 Ranch Rotating Light

Hoppy chasing bad guys and a stagecoach

Our toy light toy works!  Take a smaller wattage bulb and then the heat rises and turns our round chase scene and fan.  Then the clear viewer looks a bit like a curved TV as hoppy moves around.

The lamp toy is in original and excellent condition.  There are a few small edge tears as shown on the scene that get hidden behind the clear viewer.  Lamp has a diameter of 6″ and stands 9.25″ tall. The cord appears to be an original 2 prong cord, so treat this as an unground collectible!

From Wikipedia–

Hopalong Cassidy or Hop-along Cassidy is believed to be a fictional cowboy hero created in 1904 by the author Clarence E. Mulford, who wrote a series of popular short stories and many novels based on the character. Modern descendants of the author and the Davis family argue that the stories and name Hop-Along Cassidy are based on a real person and friend of the author.

In his early writings, Mulford portrayed the character as rude, dangerous, and rough-talking. He had a wooden leg which caused him to walk with a little “hop”, hence the nickname. From 1935, the character—as played by movie actor William Boyd in films adapted from Mulford’s books—was transformed into a clean-cut, sarsaparilla-drinking hero. Sixty-six popular films appeared, only a few of which were loosely based on Mulford’s stories.
