Marklin/Gebrüder Maerklin Horizontal Steam Engine Dampfmaschine 4098/92/8 with 25V Generator, Burner & Accessories *SOLD*

Marklin/Gebrüder Maerklin Horizontal Steam Engine Dampfmaschine 4098/92/8 with 25V Generator, Burner & Accessories for Sale

This is a horizontal steam engine/dampfmaschine 4098/92/8 with 2-wick burner, 25V generator and accessories manufactured by Marklin/Maerklin/Gebrüder Maerklin of Goppingen, Germany.

This is one of the largest steam engines Marklin ever produced! We did not fire this engine up, but the pistons and the flywheel spin as expected and operate smoothly by hand. The 2-wick burner is included as is the 25V generator. The burner door is present, attached, and operates as it should. The oft lost water level glass gauge is intact. The wooden handles to the valves are original and it appears most are present. The pressure gauge is present, as is the governor flyball. It comes with 4 accessories, a funnel, two oil pans, and an oiler.

Our example of this Maerklin/Gebrüder Maerklin live horizontal steam engine is in great all original condition with no breaks, restorations, repairs, or touch ups. This piece shows the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, and wear that are to be expected from age and play. This is approximately 14 ½” L x 14 ¼” W at the base. The engine itself is approximately 13 ½” in total height. The boiler diameter is 8cm. This would be a great and impressive addition to any collection. We invite you to view the photos to further determine quality and condition.
