We have one of the best toys Marx Made (with personal bias).  What is more 1920s than, well, a 1920s street scene with men and ladies and street lamps, and trolleys, and cars, and trucks, and crowds…. you get the picture.

Our toy is in original working condition with a relatively bright litho.  We had to do quite a bit of dusting on this one.  Likewise, the box doesn’t have ends and was dusty too.  In the end, though, we get a great condition toy with much of the box decoration.

Windup up the toy with the brake lever on (at the end building).  Then pivot the lever to “on” and the vehicles speed around the course.   The cord was replaced by Randy’s Toy Shop and should be good for another 90 years.

-Find the lady.  Find the huckster with a fruit cart.  Find the two clocks!

1919 – 1979

Founder: Louis Marx

Specialty: Louis Marx and Company was an American toy manufacturer in business from about 1919 to 1980 founded in New York City by Louis & David Marx. Its products were often imprinted with the slogan, “One of the many Marx toys, have you all of them?” Arguably, Marx was the most well-known toy company through the late mid-20th century. Best known for their lithographed tin windup toys Marx was also one of the big four among American electric train manufacturers. Interestingly, Marx also successfully revived the Yo-Yo in 1928; it sold well even through the Depression.
