Marx Tin Lithographed & Plastic “The Marx – Atomic Cape Canaveral Missile Base” Playset in Box 

We have for you this tin, lithographed and plastic “The Marx – Atomic Cape Canaveral Missile Base” playset in box manufactured by Louis Marx & Company of New York City, New York.   

This missile base comes with many accessories; however, we are not sure if everything is here and we suspect at least the UFOs and UFO launcher to be missing. The box says, it comes with a building & fencing, Bomarc missile and launcher, scientists, gantry and launching pad, missile men, flying saucers & launcher, plus many other accessories. Many of the accessories are in their original packaging and never opened. The tin lithographed Missile Test Center is in its original box, still unopened and wrapped in shrink wrap. It comes with its Certificate of Authenticity, assembly instructions, information and history of Cape Canaveral pamphlet, and a complete decal set. The box is in great condition.  

These pieces are in great all original condition with no breaks, restorations, repairs, or touch ups. These pieces show the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, missing accessories and wear that are to be expected from age. A brief history of Louis Marx & Company of New York City, New York:            

Louis Marx and Company was an American toy manufacturer in business from about 1919 to 1980 founded in New York City by Louis & David Marx. Its products were often imprinted with the slogan, “One of the many Marx toys, have you all of them?” Arguably, Marx was the most well-known toy companies through the late mid-20th century. Best known for their lithographed tin windup toys Marx was also one of the big four among American electric train manufacturers. An interesting fact is that Marx also successfully revived the Yo-Yo in 1928; it sold well even through the Depression.
