Rare Fischer of Germany Tin Windup Train for Sale *SOLD*

Rare Fischer of Germany Tin Windup Train For Sale

American collectors have begun to realize the brilliance in Fisher toys of German.  Nifty toys, imported to the US as a branding tend to trace to Fischer.  Early Toonerville Trolley toys are Fischer.  So here is a great whistle blowing windup tin train.

True to Fischer (see the Fisherman fish logo) this has a secondary action.  The train turns a cam to a shaft to bellows.  Looking below the toy we see wood and bellows that still work.  Wheels still properly function and scoot the toy across the floor.

Condition on this is very average and used.  The top of the roof has been repainted black.  Wheels are worn.  The edges have some rust and there is chipping.

Still, we appreciate the form and rarity of this toy.  It just doesn’t show up because it is so fun to play with.  It is a missing toy for most Fischer collectors.

Founded at the beginning of the 20th century in Nuremberg, Germany.

Georg Fischer produced tin (penny) toys and other novelties and began using the monogram after WWI. Trademark “G.F”.

Ceased production in 1958.
