Samy Salem Wooden Battery Operated Signed German Artist Piece “Salem’s Classic Roadster Nr. 1” in Wooden Box

This is a ca. 1990 artists signed piece from a German artist named Samy Salem, who handmade pieces for a short while in the “old style” of wooden toys. This delicately crafted battery operated toy was made for the New York art market. It comes with a black wooden box, red felt covering, and all paperwork (photos, letters, technical info, and plans) for provenance.

This has been tested and the motor works great, but the drive belt we put on doesn’t work very well and will need to be replaced to get this to travel forward. The windscreen has some dings in the top, but either way this delicate wooden car displays well.

This piece is in great all original condition with no breaks, restorations, repairs, or touch-ups. This piece shows the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, missing accessories, and wear that are to be expected from age and play.
