TPS Wagon Fantasy Land Bug and Leaf tin with Monkey

Leave it to the Japanese toy designers to push the envelope of what toys should be, and what they should look like!  This TPS tin windup has great action, with the stag horn beetle bucking and rolling at a slight turn.  The Squirrel riders spin, and then the Monkey rocks.  All of this goodness is in a bright litho with shiny new old stock condition.  The box is all original and with a glossy outside.

Ours has to be one of the nicest examples in near new old stock condition.  The windup and action work perfectly.

TPS or Toplay Ltd (1956, Japan) is also known as Tokyo Playthings Ltd.. They are best known by their “three fingers” logo type and initials. TPS was most active in the late 1950’s and early 1960’s, focusing mainly on the younger child’s market segments and creating toys with colorful lithography.
