This is a vintage Chinese ca. 1970’s battery operated tin lithographed “Armoured Tank Vehicule Blinde” ME 796 tank with original box.

We tested this battery operated tank and ran it for only a very short time. What we did see is that although it runs there is a connection that makes the soldier go up and down is loose. The gun is supposed to spark, but we did not get it to. The battery housing is clean with no corrosion. The box is in good condition with the usual signs of age. The tank says. “ME 796” down both sides.

Our example of this piece is in great all original condition with no restorations, repairs, or touch ups. The lithography is in excellent overall condition with the usual patina, scratches, scuffs, and chips that are seen with age and display. The whole toy is approximately 9 ½”.
