Ives Cap Gun Circa 1882 *SOLD*

Ives Cap Gun Circa 1882 **Sold**

This Ives cap gun has been positively identified with the Cast Iron Toy Pistols book by Best.  It is a tricky toy to ID as it doesn’t have markings, yet displays an extremely high level of casting detail indicative of the best-of-the-best American toy companies.

Ives is know as the Cadillac of toy makers, and this is no exception.  It is a toy from 1882 and looks great for its age!  The embellishment is similar to the engraving that Colts guns and Smith & Wesson used for presentation firearms.  Kids got the same royal treatment here.

With this gun you pull back the hammer then have to hold the trigger with your index finger.  Then you let the trigger go and it fires.
