We have quite an usual offering– a prewar Steam Turbine by Empire Toys, B35. It represents a more adventurous toy than average, as it allows live steam to expand and turn the turbine, just within inches of a kid’s fingers. One imagines there were a few burnt kids!
The toy comes to us untested and without a cord. The two-prong cord could be purchased, as it was common for older appliances.
Our toy comes complete with the whistle, the proper set of valves, and original handles. The sight glass is even present. The base is cast iron and the nameplate a stainless steel.
Empire Metal Products gets deep respect from us, as it was a late 1920s and 1930s steam toy company that made items to last! With its thicker stainless boiler, this one is still impressive 100 years later!
