Fisk Boy Ad – Time to Re Tire sign
Fisk Boy Ad- Time to Re Tire sign
Fresh from a 30 plus year old collection, or Fisk tire sign is an absolute classic. Fisk Tires were incredibly popular in the teens, 1920’s and then 1930’s. Their iconic sign design, like this one with a boy and lantern, became a cultural icon.
Our sign appears to be almost a plastic/celluloid over Masonite sign. Size is 19″ x 16″. Minor delimitation to one corner, otherwise near mint. Tape is still holding the back stand prop.
Begun as the Fisk Rubber Company in 1898 and headquartered in Chicopee, Massachusetts, Fisk was one of five tire companies that dominated the American tire industry between 1920 and 1937. Facing competition during the 1930s, Fisk was acquired by U.S. Rubber in 1940.
