Gama Sailor Tin Windup Toy For Sale- Germany

We have a great oddity.  This is an oft-misidentified toy, but it was made by Gama by Germany.  We confirmed via catalogs, and it was a 1930’s toy for the popular sailor’s kid crowd.  -Possibly an homage to Popeye’s popularity.

The toy is original with a very good condition lithograph.  Unfortunately it is not working now, the spring may have broken inside.

The first time Gama made this it was a “Jackie Coogan” character toy.  Gama then reused the tin shape. Charlie Chaplin’s film classic The Kid (1921) made him one of the first child stars in the history of Hollywood.
