Mohawk Toys Very Rare “Racer #15” Tin Windup Lithographed Racecar

We have for you this incredibly rare, tin, windup, lithographed, Racer #15 manufactured between the years 1919-1921 by Mohawk Metal Toy Company of Newark, NJ.

This toy has a dedicated windup key/loop, and when wound the racecar moves forward in a straight line. The windup mechanism works as it should with encouragement when on the floor and wonderfully when held up. The wheels and axles are sound. The sides of the car say, “15” and the back says, “Mohawk, Patent Pending”.

Our example of this Mohawk Racer #15 is in excellent original condition with no restorations, repairs, breaks or touch ups. This piece shows the usual patina, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, and wear that are to be expected from age and play. It is approximately 6 ¾” L. We invite you to view the photos to further determine quality and condition.
