Tonka #7245 GoBots Thruster: Renegade GoBots Headquarters Playset in Box

This is a vintage #7245 G1 GoBots Thuster: Renegade GoBots Headquarters Playset in box that was manufactured by Tonka Toys of Mound, Minnesota.

The box is in good condition, however, it does have a slice down the front, but otherwise, it is in pretty good condition. We were unable to test it as the battery compartment does have a lot of corrosion, but with some tinkering by the right person, this may be able to be remedied.

This piece is in good all original condition with no restorations, repairs, or touch-ups. These pieces show the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, missing accessories, and wear that is to be expected from age and play. This is approximately 18” L. A brief history of Tonka Toys of Mound, Minnesota:

Tonka was begun by Lynn Everett Baker, Avery F. Crounse, and Alvin F. Tesch in 1946, but it didn’t start as Tonka; instead Mound Metalcraft in 1946.   Tesch re-engineered some old toy concepts left by their building’s previous tenants and dubbed the toys “Tanka,” which means “big” in the Dakota Sioux tongue.
