Weeden Manufacturing Co. ca. 1930’s No. 643 Horizontal Steam Engine Tractor *SOLD*

Weeden Manufacturing Co. ca. 1930’s No. 643 Horizontal Steam Engine Tractor

This is a ca. 1930’s No. 643 horizontal steam engine tractor manufactured by Weeden Manufacturing Co. of New Bedford, Massachusetts.

We did not fire this engine up, but the pistons and the flywheel spin and move as expected and operate smoothly by hand. The 4-wick burner is included. The oft lost water level sight glass is intact. The top wooden handle to the whistle valve is original and intact. The chain is missing on this one.

The Weeden No. 643 horizontal steam engine tractor was introduced in 1924 and produced into 1937. Early models had a spoked flywheel, no whistle and a short firebox with a 2-wick burner.

Our example of this Weeden horizontal steam engine tractor is in great all original condition with no breaks, restorations, repairs, or touch ups. This piece shows the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, and wear that are to be expected from age and play. It is approximately 8 ½” L X 4″ W and stands 11 ½” H. This would be a great and impressive addition to any collection. We invite you to view the photos to further determine quality and condition.
