Large Scale 1950s Renault Fregate 5/52E Battery Op Car by CIJ

This Renault is a peculiar and unusual large scale car worthy of interest. CIJ is one of the underrated Vintage Model car makers in my opinion, as their quality is simply outstanding.

Based in France, CIJ (Compagne Inustrielle du Jouet) was founded by

Fernand Migault in Paris, 1920. They were contracted much later by Renault to produce various model cars.

This one is the Renault Fregate, an executive saloon car of the 1950s. IT features awesome original metallic red paint, hand painted license plate, and large rubber tires.

The battery-operated motor/lights function via a switch under the rear bumper controls the lights. Interestingly, the shift knob on the steering column functions as the motor on/off switch. A leaver underneath the front end can also set the steering.

The car is in very good shape. Minor loss to the original paint, however there is UV fading on the top of the car that gets progressively heavier towards the truck. The tires are heavily discolored and are fairly hard, however they do roll well. There is moderate dust inside the crevices and interior from display.

Battery power not tested.

The car comes with its original box, which shows moderate wear to the paper covering.
