Aepacoal Toys Tin Lithographed Windup Local Shuttle Train in Box Made in India

We are throwing our readers for a curve with this– “Local Shuttle Train Toy”, and it is made in India by Aepacoal (we believe) toys.  These toys have become challenging to see or document, as the humidity of India corrodes most examples.

Our train toy is new old stock and has similarities to both Marx designs of the U.S. and Technofix Toys of Germany.

The coloration is superb with extreme saturation of the reds and yellows.  It has a pre-war Japanese tin feel and primitive look.  The toy works, and all the parts are present like gate and station building.

We wonder if there is a clay oven inside, food for locals, and then get a kick out of the advertising.

A nice exclamation on top of the box is a cute little bunny and happy Tiger!  -Not your American cat for sure and absolutely an Asian denizen.

We aren’t likely to see another one of these.  It is primitive, but a stellar survivor of post war times and early industry in India.
