Possibly The Most Beautiful Cast Iron Toy- Sehloff Clipper and Chrysler Airstream

We have a toy in the running for “The most beautiful cast iron toy” award.  This made up award would go to a few Ives toys, a few Kyser and Rex toys, A Hubley or two, and Arcade, then this toy by Tom Sehloff.

Enjoy the beauty of the rumble seat Chrysler and its “Clipper” brand trailer.  Details are nickel plated, and he may have overpainted an entire nickeled car in order to get plated brightwork.

The Airstream Convertible #12/14

The Clipper Trailer #38/50 (the only one we’ve seen color coded to the car- Per Customer). Normally these are silver.

Tom made these in the 90s and made them in a smaller volume.  He hand carved the patterns and had a hand in the casting process, finishing, assembly, and then did all the hand painting.
