1950s VeBe Chevy Stake Truck Tin Wind Up *sold*

1950s VeBe Chevy Stake Truck Large Tin Wind up 13.25”

The French toy makers of the early-mid 1900s were astonishing. From companies like VeBe, JeP, Citroen, CIJ, and others came beautifully crafted model cars of superior quality.

Vebe started manufacturing toys in the early 1920s, as the V.B & Company (Victor Bonnet) and produced excellent pre-war cars that are quite scarce today. Like most industries, during the war period production ceased.

Vebe returned after the war, and began to incorporate the new modern styles into their toys as well.

Here we have an Early 1950s Chevy inspired truck, complete with battery-operated headlights, composite driver figure, and strong clockwork motor. Excellent detailing on the cab, which also has functional driver door and steering wheel.

Truck appears all original, with some moderate scratching and a few small dings throughout. Battery compartment looks good, however the wire contact is unusual to me.  Lights did light up when I touched it to the battery in the compartment.

As a nice addition to the display, the truck comes with its original VeBe Box.

Measures approx. 13-1/2″ Long
