American Flyer Lines Tin Lithographed “Flyer Town Freight Station” Railroad Train Station 

We have for you this tin, lithographed, “Flyer Town Freight Station” railroad train station manufactured by American Flyer of Chicago, Illinois.    

We did not test the lights in the office and on the street light, but we see no reason why they should not work.

This piece is in great all original condition with no breaks, restorations, repairs, or touch ups. This piece shows the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, missing accessories and wear that are to be expected from age and play. This is approximately 17” L x 7 ½” W.  We invite you to view the photos to further determine quality and condition. 

 

 

A brief history of American Flyer of Chicago, Illinois:

1907-1938
Acquired by A.C. Gilbert
Specialty: Electric train engines and rolling stock. Also produced a popular line of comic figures on bicycle gravity toys, including Charlie Chaplin, Uncle Sam, Roosevelt Bears (Circa 1912). A.C. Gilbert revitalized the ailing American Flyer line; following the second world war, it moved to “S” gauge models, retaining the American Flyer name.
