Bandai Popy Tiger Mask KuruKuru Televi in Box

Popy released the KuruKuru Terevi (ポピー くるくるてれび) in 1979. It improved upon Bandai’s earlier design by eliminating manual operation—this version is electronic and requires two AA batteries. Each replaceable cartridge contains a 2–3 minute 8mm film clip with no sound. The cartridge lineup for these included Candy Candy,  Doraemon, Kamen Rider, Mazinger Z, Mobile Suit Gundam, Tiger Mask, and more.

This particular example features the Japanese wrestler Tiger Mask, originally portrayed by Satoru Sayama. The character was based on the Tiger Mask anime of the late 1960s and early 1970s, which was itself adapted from the manga series written by Ikki Kajiwara and illustrated by Naoki Tsuji. The anime and manga were created as a way to draw younger audiences into the world of professional wrestling.

This appears to have never been used or opened. The box shows shelf wear, but the contents look brand new.
