This piece is a ca. 1926 tin, lithographed, no. 148K squeeze boxers that was manufactured by Georg Kellerman & Co. (C.K.O., CKO) of Nuremberg, Germany.
These delicate figures work by squeezing the handle, which makes the boxers arms move.
This piece is in excellent all original condition with no breaks, restorations, repairs, or touch ups. This piece shows the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, missing accessories and wear that are to be expected from age and play. This is approximately 5 ¾” H. A brief history of CKO/Georg Kellerman & Co. of Nuremberg, Germany:
Georg Kellerman and Company was founded in Nuremberg, Germany in 1910 by former Karl Bub employee Georg Kellerman. Kellerman operated under the trademark C.K.O/CKO and specialized in manufacturing clockwork tin motorcycle and other penny toys.
In 1931, after Georg Kellerman’s death his son Willy took over the company until it shuttered in 1979.
