Japanese Pre-War Wooden Cowboy Horse Toys *SOLD*

Japanese Pre-War Wooden Cowboy Horse Toys

These prewar Cowboy horse toys are humble and Americana through and through.  But, WAIT,  they are actually prewar Japanese interpretations of what Americans would want.   They were likely made on behalf of American toymaker Geo. Borgfeldt and Nifty branding, but they were imported.

The toys are also rare prewar toys, so they were likely made CA 1930 when cowboys and Indians were sunsetting from their rough lifestyle.

The toys wind up and then horse/donkey legs open and then close, creating a loping action.   Toys are made of tin windup mechanisms and wood bodies.  Most all appear hand-painted, sometimes using a stencil.

Another great thing here is that it is a uniquely different set, so the collector can get their own dude ranch.   -A great leg up on the world of western-style toys and cowboy toys.
