Hess Tin Lithographed Set of Firing Cannons for Sale

Hess Tin Lithographed Set of Firing Cannons

These are a set of tin lithographed firing cannons that were manufactured by J.L. Hess of Nuremberg, Germany.

These small firing cannons operate by pulling back the plunger, hooking it on the latch, put your projectiles in and push the latches other end down. We did not load these up with anything, but we did operate the firing mechanisms which both work on these cannons. One cannon comes with its base and the other is missing its base.

Our example of these Hess firing cannons are in fair to good all original condition with no restorations, repairs, or touch ups. These pieces show the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, and wear that are to be expected from age and play. The first cannon is approximately 4 ½” L x 2 ¾” W at its base, with the cannon being 5 ¼” L. The second cannon without base is 5 ¼” L x 1 ¼” W. We invite you to view the photos to further determine quality and condition.
