Kamar Rare Windup “JFK & Rocking Chair” Japanese John F. Kennedy Toy in Box *SOLD*

Kamar Rare Windup “JFK & Rocking Chair” Japanese John F. Kennedy Toy in Box

We have a toy that bridges the toy arena and becomes historic.  This JFK toy by Kamar plays “Happy Days Are Here Again” and was released in 1963.  Then our president was taken from us and this toy was pulled from the shelves.  Our example survives and is mint in box and rare.

One can be surprised about emotions, and solemn that an object can elicit.  Here the photographer had a hard time not getting emotional about the personification of John F Kennedy and this particular “toy”.  It is a great likeness to the president and the music plays perfectly after it is wound up, the chair rocks; it is haunting.

Even the original hang tag and news paper, “Herald Tribune” have a historic touchstone.  The paper pictures Jackie (now passed), and Bobby Kennedy (assassinated too).  We have a toy that is historic, many of which were destroyed, and then we have an eerie piece of history.  See our video on Youtube.  It is perfect for a toy collector, JFK admirer, and historian; a treasure.

Condition is new old stock. The toy works perfectly, and the ones we have previously don’t. The news paper is present (rare) and the hang tag is present (unheard of before).

John Fitzgerald “Jack” Kennedy (May 29, 1917 – November 22, 1963), commonly referred to by his initials JFK, was an American politician who served as the 35th President of the United States from January 1961 until his assassination in November 1963
