Pratt & Letchworth ca. 1890’s No. SS Cast Iron Horse Drawn Fire Hose Wagon Bell Ringer  

This ca. 1890’s No. SS cast iron horse drawn fire hose wagon bell ringer was manufactured by Pratt & Letchworth of Buffalo, New York. 

The front wheel on the horse and the driver have been professionally recast. The fire hose and nozzle have also been professionally redone. The bell works as it should when rolled forward. The rear step and posts are missing.  

This piece is in great all original condition with the above repairs and/or replacements. This piece shows the usual patina, fading, dust, chips, scuffs, surface rust, scratches, missing accessories and wear that are to be expected from age and play. 1880 – 1900
Founder: Pascal P. Pratt and William P. Letchworth
Specialty: Cast-iron toy trains, horse-drawn hansom cabs, pumpers, artillery wagons. Originally known (1870s) as Buffalo Malleable Iron Works, Francis Carpenter`s stock and patent rights were acquired by Pratt & Letchworth in 1890.
