Marx Linemar Tin Lithographed Windup Superman Tank *SOLD*

Superman Tank by Linemar of Japan for sale, Marx

Marx contracted Japan and tabled this Superman Tank as Linemar of Japan.  They were smart & disguised the Japanese factory and distributor!

It is an unusual tin toy in that it rolls over but has a different Superman outfit than normal.  We are used to blue suits with red capes, but this Superman has a yellow suit that pops.  We will guess that the tin litho makers didn’t want to purchase and tool up another color of navy blue.  They already had yellow at hand for the tank shovels and highlights.

The toy ratchets Superman open and eventually to a full up and down position.  Next it fully stands and the tank rolls over, with Superman folding back under the M-25 tank.  The tank then drives on for a few inches.

Condition is all original and extremely glossy and clean on our Comic toy.  Superman has only one point of wear near his feet.

Toy has copyright details or licensing details printed “National Comics Publications, Inc.” and “Line” then “Mar” then “Toys” inside a circle.  Finally below is “Japan”.
