We have for you today a vintage 1950’s battery operated Bail-A-Matic 33 HP toy scale model boat outboard motor from Scott-Atwater Manufacturing Co Inc. made in Japan. This item is a dead stock item comes with its original box that is in great shape, along with original instructions. The box touts that the motor “bails your boat”. The stand pictured is included.

The instructions say not to use a transformer with this model, dry motor thoroughly after using, and to use from 3 to 6 volts for best performance. It also shows how to hook up the batteries with “regular flashlight batteries” in a 2 or 4 battery configuration. We tested the motor and it works perfectly.

Our example of this outboard motor is in near mint all original condition with no restorations, repairs, breaks or touch ups. This piece shows very minimal of the usual patina, chips, scuffs, scratches, and wear that are to be expected from age and display. It is approximately 5 ½” x 3″.
