Vintage Lot of 3 Tootsietoy and AMT/Remco Promotional Model Vehicles 1960-1961 Ford Thunderbird Cars

The first car we have in this lot of toys is a die cast maroon Ford Thunderbird by Tootsietoy of Chicago, Illinois. The wheels are rubber and show no petrification. The wheels and axles are in great condition and roll well. The underside is stamped “Tootsietoy”, “Chicago U.S.A”, and Ford Thunderbird”. Our example of this car is in good all original condition with no restorations, repairs, breaks or touch ups. This piece shows the usual patina, chips, scuffs, scratches, and wear that are to be expected from age and play. It is approximately 4 ¼” in length.

The second car in this lot is a plastic 1960 Ford Thunderbird. The wheels are made of plastic. The wheels and axles are in great condition but do not roll very well. This is not marked anywhere other than saying “1960” on the license plate and “Thunderbird” down each side. We believe it to be Remco or AMT promotional car. Our example of this car is in good all original condition with no restorations, repairs, breaks or touch ups. This piece shows the usual patina, chips, scuffs, scratches, and wear that are to be expected from age and play. It is approximately 8” in length.

The third car in this lot is a plastic 1961 Ford Thunderbird “390 Special V-8”. The wheels are made of rubber and roll well. The wheels and axles are in great condition and roll well. This is not marked with a manufacturers mark anywhere other than saying “1961” on the license plate. We believe it to be Remco or AMT promotional car. On the underside there is information on this 1961 Thunderbird such as, “Wider Tread”, “Alumanized”, “Thunderbird..Unique in all the World”. Our example of this car is in good all original condition with no restorations, repairs, breaks or touch ups. This piece shows the usual patina, chips, scuffs, scratches, and wear that are to be expected from age and play. It is approximately 8 ¼” in length.
