Vintage Occupied Japan “Walking Goat” Tin Windup Toy in Box 

This is an adorable and very desirable tin “Walking Goat” windup manufactured in Occupied Japan. The phrase “Occupied Japan” is found on many collectibles made in Japan after World War II during the years 1947 to 1952. 

This plushy covered tin goat is wound by a key that is located on its side. The key is the original key. When wound the goat “walks” forward. The windup mechanism works as it should. The goat is marked “Made in Occupied Japan” on a sticker on its tummy. The box is in all  great original condition. 

Our example of this Walking Goat windup is in excellent, near mint, original condition with no breaks, restorations, repairs, or touch ups. We did notice the goats plushy coat is a bit loose, but with a bit of glue he can be as good as new. This piece shows the usual patina, dust, chips, scuffs, scratches, and wear that are to be expected from age and display. It is approximately 5 ½” L.
