Wyandotte Easter Wagon Pressed Steel Toy *SOLD*

Wyandotte Easter Wagon Pressed Steel Toy For Sale

Our wagon is a surprisingly old toy in incredible condition.  It was part of a 1937 Wyandotte Easter Line of toys– “Wyandotte Opens the way to BIGGER Easter Profits” was the tagline.

Based on a catalog we found, we have a No. E265 Wagon.

“Made of heavy gauge steel, 10 1/2″ [just the wagon bed] long, 5 inches wide.  Streamlined. Decorated metal wheels in special Easter designs. Baked enamel finish in assorted pastel shades.”

Wyandotte History (All Metal Products)

All Metal Products entered the toy industry in the Fall of 1921 under the Wyandotte trademark.  This was taken from the city where it existed at the time– Wyandotte, Michigan at about 11 miles from Detroit.  The toy division ceased production in about 1957. We read that steel supplies were in short supply as America was growing.  We also read that  certain ownership kept up lavish lifestyles as operations were consolidated to Piqua, Ohio (and loan to build into Piqua) from Martins Ferry and Wyandotte, MI and noted that shipping costs presented a problem.
